Food and Wine festivals are popping up all around the country. Yet, not all are created equal. Euphoria is a combination of food, wine, AND music. One of the founders of Euphoria is musician, Edwin McCain. Euphoria features talent from as far north as New York City and Toronto and as far west as California.
Several tasting events throughout the weekend feature bites from a variety of vendors. Music is always a part of each event whether it is jazz or bluegrass or Mr. McCain himself. And of course there are wine seminars and wine pairing dinners as well.
• Choose individual events to attend or buy the 3-day VIP package.
• Don’t miss out on anything. There’s ample time to experience all the events.
• EVERYTHING is in walking distance – no wheels necessary.
Highlights of the weekend long event:
Taste of the South:
The Taste of the South is the perfect kickoff to the weekend. Mosy on down to the Wychee Pavillion, the beautiful brick open air center where lots of restaurants are serving tastes of their best dishes. Wash it all down with a Sweetwater 420, then nab your spot on the lawn to hear some fantastic live music from Edwin McCain and friends.
Besides wine pairing dinners, there are also pairing dinners for Beer and Spirits as well. Bites like the Heirloom Tomato Gazpacho with Crab & Shrimp Hush puppies pair nicely with the Rhubarb and Prosecco cocktail. Alaskan Halibut with Georgia Clams and Bacon and Duck with Foie Gras Sausage, Carrot Puree and Grand Marnier Reduction were nothing to sneeze at either.
This farm-to-table Southern dinner, spearheaded by James Beard winner, Sean Brock, was relaxed yet elegant at the same time. The family style dinner allowed chefs and guests co-mingle with diners excitedly sharing their favorite events of the weekend. It was the perfect ending to a fabulously gluttonous weekend.
Event after event at Euphoria Food, Wine and Music festival went off without a hitch. Even the newest event – the Sunday Supper was delightful, free from any glitches. Euphoria 2012 is coming up soon. Dates are Thursday, September 20 to Sunday, September 23. You won’t want to miss it. Stay for all or part of the weekend based on your preference.
